One person was killed when security guards fired at a group of men trying to trespass into an engineering and management institute in Pilkhuwa here early on Sunday. Someone in the group fired at the guards of Lord Krishna College first,claimed the police. A case of attempt to murder has been filed. Subhash Tomar,the security guard who shot the trespasser,said there were around six persons in the group and they were trying to scale the boundary wall of the college. Two of us were on duty and saw a group of men on the boundary wall near the hostel around 2.30 am. The ground floor is occupied by the students whereas the first floor is under construction. When were tried to stop them,someone in the group pulled out a pistol and shot at us, said the guard. Ghaziabad SP Rural Capt M M Baig said the guards took cover behind a pillar and shot back,killing Mukesh,a 28-year-old resident of Gautam Buddh Nagar. Mukesh has a criminal record and had earlier been booked under the Arms Act at Massorie police station. The intentions of the group which tried to enter the the boys hostel is still not clear. We have found bullets at the spot and are questioning the students too, said the SP. The institution management is silent on the issue.
