Walk through the different aromas engulfing the air, from sizzling kebabs and kormas of Pakistan to Thailand’s Pad Thai and the infamous Thai green curry, at the Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association (DCWA) annual International Bazaar Sunday. The 27th edition of the fundraiser will be organised at the foyer of The Ashok and will host stalls and heads of missions from as many as 45 countries. Those searching for a visual treat can look around at the Egyptian papyrus baskets, Pashmina shawls and artwork from Poland. “We have a host of activities lined up at the bazaar, from games such as the Wishing Well and a children’s corner to hamper stalls and airline ticket counters. There will be live cooking counters on the international side and stalls selling handicrafts from 45 countries, including Serbia, Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia among others. Along with 100 stalls from India, young entrepreneurs from the city will also participate in the event,” said Asha Chopra, DCWA chairman. The proceeds of the event will be used to run the DCWA’s medical centre and its learning centre for children at Zamrudpur.
