Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday wrote to Organising Committee chairperson Suresh Kalmadi that students from city schools and colleges should be allowed free entry into the Games venues. This comes in wake of the low spectator count at the venues.

The move is expected to improve the spectator count. “Kalmadi said on Monday that students and people from the lower strata of society will get free entry,” sources said, adding that so far no arrangement has been made in this regard. There have been reports of mismanagement in the sale of tickets as well. Harassment by security personnel at the venues has also been deterring spectators.
