Ghaziabad: Four ‘loot’ woman, arrested in police encounter

Four men involved in a robbery have been arrested following a police encounter in which two of them were injured, the Ghaziabad police said on Monday. The encounter came a day after the Crossing Republik police station received a complaint regarding an incident of alleged loot.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Wave City, Priyashri Pal, said: “She (complainant) alleged that she was looted by some unidentified men in an autorickshaw. A case was registered under relevant sections and several teams were formed to solve the case.”

According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Irfan Gazi (41), Sadab (24), Aman Garg (22) and Nazim Khan (23) — all residents of Ghaziabad. Aman was driving the autorickshaw. Pal said that the accused fired at the police team, and Irfan and Sadab sustained injuries when the officers fired in retaliation.
