The fourth Sherpa meeting, being held ahead of the two-day G20 Summit scheduled in Delhi, began at ITC Grand Bharat Hotel in Haryana’s Nuh on Sunday. Nuh, which saw violence a month earlier, has since been under a heavy blanket of security. The Nuh district administration has already welcomed 176 representatives from various countries who arrived at the hotel for the event under tight security. On Monday, the Haryana government will host a dinner for the foreign guests which will be attended by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Ministers of State Rao Inderjit Singh and Krishan Pal Gurjar, several Cabinet ministers of Haryana, and senior IAS-IPS officers. Various Haryanvi dishes will be part of the dinner, and the district administration said they aim to showcase Haryanvi culture before the delegates. Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata informed that the final draft of the agenda for the G20 Summit will be discussed in this Sherpa meeting, which began on Sunday and will go on till September 7, Thursday. He also mentioned that representatives from various countries will present their positions on economic and global agendas. Representatives from various countries will participate in a total of 12 parallel sessions as part of this Sherpa meet. On Tuesday, there will be five parallel sessions. On September 6, Wednesday, there will be two parallel sessions. Cultural programmes will be held in the evening on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with dinner. Earlier, DC Khadgata and Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarniya Sunday assessed security arrangements on all roads leading to the venue from the Sirhaul border. Various banners and hoardings have been put up along the routes. An exhibition has also been organised by the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department of the Haryana government at the venue, showcasing Haryana’s special achievements in various sectors.
