The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police on Friday recovered the bodies of four family members from Tusyana village, under the jurisdiction of the Ecotech-3 police station.

Prima facie, it seems to be a case of “death due to suffocation”, said police.

The four deceased — identified as one Chandresh, his wife Nisha, brother Rajesh, and sister Bubli — were natives of Hathras, who lived in a rented accomodation in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Rajesh used to sell parathas on a cart, and Chandresh worked for a food delivery company, said police.

“On being informed, a police team reached the door of the said house, which was locked from inside, and recovered the bodies. It was revealed that something was put on the stove, with the knob of the cylinder turned on. The gas spread to the house from there. There was a smell in the room… Prima facie, the cause of death appears to be suffocation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem… and further investigation is underway,” said Suniti, deputy commissioner of police (Central Noida).
