Five persons from Delhi were killed and six others sustained critical injuries after the truck they were travelling in collided head-on with another,near Brahmawas village on the Jind-Rohtak highway in Haryana on Wednesday. Police said the five men were from Sultanpuri. They have been identified as Wajid,Murli,Gyani,Wasim and Ayub. They were heading to Jullana in Jind from Delhi. While Gyani,Wasim and Ayub died on the spot,Wajid and Murli succumbed to injuries during treatment in Rohtaks Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. The collision also resulted in the death of three buffaloes that were being transported in the other truck. Police have registered a case against the driver of the truck carrying the buffaloes,and a probe is on to determine which of the two trucks caused the accident. The post-mortem has been conducted on three of the bodies and they have been handed over to family members. The matter is under investigation and we will ascertain as to whose fault led to this road mishap. Both the trucks have been impounded and we will get their mechanical examination done, an officer said.
