Eyeing grassroots connect, Delhi Congress holds meeting with booth agents

The party is also keeping track of the names of the workers and leaders missing from these meetings (File)In a bid to strengthen the grassroots connect, the Booth Management Committee of the Delhi Congress held a meeting of its booth-level agents (BLAs) at its head office in the Capital on Monday. During the meeting, BLAs of the party’s different wings were given training in booth management.
“The party should strengthen its presence at the booth-level to win elections by participating in the meetings of booth-level Assembly and district election offices, give prior information and suggestions of the meeting to the leaders and workers of the Assembly, update the data given by all the Congress colleagues in the respective Assembly,” Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav said.
The party is also keeping track of the names of the workers and leaders missing from these meetings. These names will be given to the state office, and planning to ensure proper management of BLAs is on via WhatsApp groups.
Booth-level agents have also been asked to form teams in their respective areas and hold regular meetings with the Election Commission officials on adding new names to the voters’ list, along with the voters who have shifted or passed away.
“There are about 13,680 booths in Delhi, and Congress will see success with the consolidation of booth level with the formation of a team of dedicated workers. The booth-level workers play an important role in delivering the right message to the public by espousing the party’s ideology and programmes as well as exposing the government’s anti-people policies and non-performance,” Yadav said.
