Entry to CP closes at 7 pm

All the 84,000 Delhi Police personnel from the rank of constable to commissioner of police will be on duty to curtail any mishaps as the Capital gets ready to usher in the New Year. The department has asked all police stations,units and traffic police to stay alert,in accordance to a Home ministry advisory.

Traffic restrictions will set in from 7 pm on Friday,banning entry of general vehicles to Connaught Place. “Connaught Place will be out of bounds for general traffic from around 7 pm to 2 am,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg. People coming to CP from Barakhamba Road,Tolstoy Marg,Gole Dak Khana,Gole Market and Windsor Place will have to park their vehicles and walk,he added.
