Two men, allegedly involved in a recent incident of firing outside the residence of Bollywood actor Disha Patani, were on Wednesday killed in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City in an encounter — a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), Delhi Police Crime Intelligence Unit, and the Haryana STF.
According to the UP Police, the two men belonging to Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar Gang were identified as Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun. Kallu was from Haryana’s Rohtak, while Arun was from Sonipat. An officer said that Ravindra was allegedly involved in another case where he had shot at policemen in Haryana’s Fatehabad and was wanted in several other cases.
The officer said that an Apache bike, used in the September 12 incident, was recovered from the spot in Tronica City. Police also seized a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and a large cache of cartridges.

The duo were traveling on the bike when they were spotted by the teams, which had laid a trap near Tronica City on Wednesday evening. On seeing the officers, the duo opened fire at them, said police, adding that the officers fired in retaliation. The two men sustained multiple injuries and were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead. The police said two bullets hit each of the accused. Over a dozen rounds were fired by both sides during the operation. Bullets also hit a police vehicle, they said.
Two officers of the Delhi Police and two of their UP counterparts also sustained injuries in the cross-firing. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P S Kushwaha, Delhi Police’s Sub Inspector Rohit sustained a gunshot injury on the left hand, while head constable Kailash sustained an injury on the right hand. Two head constables of UP STF, Ankur and Jai, were also injured, the DCP said. All the officials are under treatment.

According to a statement by the UP Police, following the incident outside Patani’s residence, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed police to ensure a speedy investigation and strict action, in line with the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against crime.
During the investigation, police analysed CCTV camera footage and tallied crime records of neighboring states. Officers subsequently zeroed in on the two men with the help of technical surveillance. The UP Police had also contacted Delhi and Haryana Police departments to get leads in this case.
Hours after the incident on September 12, the Godara-Brar gang had claimed responsibility via a purported social media post. They had said that the firing was in response to an alleged “insult” directed at spiritual gurus Premanand Ji Maharaj and Anirudh Acharya Ji Maharaj by Disha’s sister, Khushboo.
A CCTV camera had captured the two men on a motorcycle going towards Patani’s house and immediately returning from the same lane. In another footage, the shooters could be seen firing multiple shots at Patani’s residence.
