He moved to Delhi in search of a better life and started living in Dholak Basti of Yamuna Pushta. However, in 2004, he was caught and was deported to Bangladesh. On Friday, a team, led by SHO Ravinder Kumar Tyagi, was on patrolling duty after a tip-off was received about a suspected Bangladeshi illegal immigrant residing in Hanuman Majdoor Camp of Sector-2 of RK Puram, said police.

“Based on an input, the team swiftly reacted and apprehended the suspect (Feroz Mulla). During the initial questioning, he falsely claimed to be a resident of Bongaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. However, upon sustained questioning, he revealed his parental address as village Sahib Ka Hatt PS Shibchar District Madaripur (Bangladesh),” said DCP (Southwest) Surendra Chaudhary.

This is the second deportation order to be issued against an “illegal Bangladeshi” immigrant since the special drive was ordered on December 10. Earlier on Wednesday, Sonali Sheikh, 28, who was staying at Ruchi Vihar in Mahipalpur allegedly without any valid documents, was issued deportation orders, said officials.

“Usually, even illegal immigrants have Aadhaar cards made in border states like Assam and West Bengal. But in this case, she did not have any,” an officer, who was part of the drive in the South West district, said. She allegedly came to India around six years ago from Bangladesh’s Narail district with her parents and younger brother.
