Delhi News Live Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued orange and yellow alerts issued of different parts of the Delhi, forecasting rain and thunderstorm. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorm and lightning (30-40 Km/h gusty winds) is very likely to occur in the entire Delhi & NCR during the next 2 hours, the IMD said.

Delhi News Live Updates: Delhi airport sees 15 flight diversions due to heavy rain

As many as 15 flights were diverted at the Delhi airport on Tuesday due to heavy rain in the national capital, according to an official.

Heavy rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Tuesday afternoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange alerts for Delhi, forecasting moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorms and lightning.

The official said that out of the 15 flights, 8 were diverted to Jaipur, 5 to Lucknow and 2 to Chandigarh. --PTI

Delhi News Live Updates: First artificial rain trial in Capital postponed due to weather conditions

Delhi's first artificial rain trial has been postponed, even as the aircraft fitted with cloud-seeding equipment for the experiment stands ready in Meerut, officials said on Monday.

The trial will be conducted as soon as weather conditions improve.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa along with officials of the environment department and a technical team from IIT Kanpur inspected the aircraft on Monday to ensure all systems required for the trial were in place, an official familiar said.

Sirsa said the trial could be conducted "any day" once the India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirms a clear-weather window. --PTI
