(Express Photo By Amit Mehra)After a long winter, Delhi is all set to witness rising temperatures in the coming week, starting Monday, when maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 31 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), maximum temperatures can be expected to soar up to 33 degrees Celsius, surpassing the normal temperatures for this time of year by 1.7 degrees.
While Monday will witness a maximum temperature of 31 degrees, Tuesday is expected to see a slight increase at 32°C, followed by Wednesday reaching 33°C. Thursday will remain warm with a maximum temperature of 32°C, followed by Friday and Saturday when it is forecasted to peak again at 33°C.
On the other hand, the minimum temperatures are expected to dip below the normal range of 16.5°C for this season, ranging between 13 and 15°C. While no rainfall is predicted for the Yamuna plains this week, Thursday and Saturday may see a partly cloudy sky, with the remainder of the week expected to remain clear, according to IMD’s weather forecast.
On Sunday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season’s average, according to the IMD.
The humidity level was 28%, according to data recorded by the IMD at 5.30 pm.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded in the “moderate” category with a reading of 188 at 10pm, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
