Delhi: Software developer held for stalking MD of stationery company
The woman told police that she initially avoided him when he called her five months ago, but he kept sending her messages on WhatsApp and began to stalk her.
The managing director of a leading stationery company was allegedly stalked and harassed by a software developer who used to work in the same company, said police. Following a complaint filed by the woman, police arrested the accused from his residence in Kailash Colony last week.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) M S Randhawa has confirmed the incident and the arrest of accused, but refused to divulge any more details. Sources said the 35-year-old accused is a divorcee and lives in Kailash Colony with his parents. “He was arrested on March 25 on charges of stalking (354-d) and outraging the modesty of a woman (509) of the IPC,” said the sources.

The woman, in her complaint filed on March 24, said the accused had been constantly threatening and stalking her for the past three months. “Initially, he worked at the company as a freelance software developer. Six months ago, he began to misbehave with the woman. The company stopped working with him, following which he started to send obscene messages to her,” added the sources.

“He used to wait outside her office. He even asked her to marry him, which she reportedly rejected,” said the sources.
Police said, initially, the woman said nothing to her family. “A few days ago, she finally told her family about the accused’s behaviour. They decided to approach the police, who registered a case at Hazrat Nizamuddin police station,” said a senior police officer.
