Cashing in on the popularity of the latest season of the Netflix show Bridgerton, the Delhi Police has issued an unusual warning to the people in the national capital, cautioning them against drinking and driving.

In the manner of Lady Whistledown, an important character on the show, the letter posted on the Delhi Police’s social media handle on X on Thursday begins with the iconic words, “Dearest readers”.

It speaks about how the police have noticed a trend of Delhiites drinking and driving. “It appears some among us still dare to drink before taking the reins of their modern-day chariots, which puts everyone in danger,” reads the letter.

It then cautions drivers to remain “clear-headed” and keep their communities safe, before signing off saying, “P.S: Safety and sobriety are always in fashion.”
