A police officer said that during questioning, Hasin allegedly said he had been in touch with ISI officers for the past four years. He had visited Pakistan several times and was the one who connected Kasim with them, the officer added.

Hasin’s mobile phone and other gadgets have been seized and sent to a forensic lab, police said. Police said Hasin was produced before a court on Saturday, which sent him to five-day police custody.

According to police, Hasin visited Pakistan around 15 years ago as his relatives live there and has allegedly been in touch with ISI officials for the last 4-5 years. In August 2024, Hasin sent a SIM card through Kasim, which was in his name, when he visited the country; it was used by Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIO).

Using Indian SIMs, PIOs were communicating with Indians through WhatsApp to extract information on sensitive installations related to the Army and other government offices, said officers.
