Sanoj Mishra Arrested: The Delhi Police Sunday arrested director Sanoj Mishra on charges of rape based on the complaint of a 28-year-old woman.
Mishra was the one who had earlier offered a movie to viral Mahakumbh girl ‘Monalisa’.
According to the police, on March 6, the complainant registered a First Information Report (FIR) at Nabi Karim police station in Central Delhi under sections of rape, assault, causing miscarriage, and threatening.
The police said that, as per the complaint, the accused was in a live-in relationship with the complainant in Mumbai for the past four years. She alleged that she was forced to undergo abortion thrice.
She has alleged in the FIR that on February 18, the accused brought her to a hotel in Nabi Karim and made physical relations with her.
“He later reneged on his promise to marry her and she filed a complaint… During the investigation, medical papers related to abortion were collected from Muzaffarnagar. Delhi High Court has also rejected his bail application,” said Harsha Vardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Delhi Police. The DCP said the accused was arrested on Sunday after intelligence gathering and technical surveillance.
The police said the accused is married and resides with his family in Mumbai.
