A day after being attacked at her Camp Office, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Thursday announced that the ‘Jan Sunwayi (public hearing)’ meetings will not only be held at her home, but in every Assembly constituency too.
Gupta was attacked on Wednesday during one such public hearing at the office, adjacent to her official residence in Civil Lines, by a man from Gujarat.
Taking to X, she posted a picture of her signing files, and wrote in Hindi, “When I was in college, my father gave me a car to drive. One day, an accident occurred. I was afraid to touch the car again. Then my father said that accidents happen in life, one should not stop out of fear.”
Saying that she was reminded of his teachings, the CM added, “Yesterday, another accident happened, but I can never stop fighting for the interests of Delhiites. Every moment of my life and every particle of my body is dedicated to Delhi. I will never leave Delhi despite all these unexpected attacks.”
The CM also said that women have double the strength to fight troubles: “They have to go through countless tests to prove themselves. I am also ready. Now public hearing will not be held only at my house but in every assembly constituency of Delhi. Your Chief Minister, at your doorstep.”
According to officials, the days and timings of these meetings will be decided soon. "It will also be decided whether it will be a weekly or a monthly meeting in each constituency," they added.
