(File Photo)Delhi Metro is the lifeline of the national capital. With its economical prices and all-round reliable service, those travelling from Delhi to Noida or Dwarka rely on it to reach their destination. While its schedule remains the same for most part, sometimes, it makes exceptions owing to special events to better serve Delhiites.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will advance its start time to 4 am on both the polling and counting days of the MCD bye-elections in 12 wards. The early rollout will apply across all lines and terminals as part of the election-day travel plan.
The Metro will operate early-morning services on November 30 (polling day) and December 3 (counting day) to facilitate movement of polling personnel and deployed staff.
On November 30 (Sunday) services will begin at 4am from all terminal stations. Trains will run every 30 minutes till 6am and then follow the regular Sunday timetable.
The last train will leave at 11.30 pm, 30 minutes later than the usual closing time.
All corridors will follow the 4am start on polling day, allowing staff assigned to early duties to use the metro network from the first departures.
On December 3 (Wednesday), trains will again start at 4am. A 30-minute frequency will be maintained till 6am, after which services will shift to the standard weekday timetable.
Commuters can check updated first and last train timings, interchange connections and travel durations through the DMRC website and mobile app’s trip planner.
Blue Line services will mirror the network-wide 4 am start on both polling and counting days, with the same early frequency pattern.
Outside the election dates, the Metro will continue to operate as per the regular daily timetable across all corridors. On a normal day, the metro operates from 5 am to 11.30 pm.
