A 45-year-old bus driver was charred to death early Tuesday after he allegedly forgot to turn off the gas burner he was using to cook inside the bus, police said.
The police identified the deceased as Ram Naresh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district. The incident occurred at Transport Nagar in Sector 69.
Station House Officer Dhruv Bhushan Dubey of Phase 3 police station said, “Prima facie it appears that Naresh was cooking inside the bus and forgot to turn off the gas burner. Soon, the bus caught fire and spread to another empty bus parked nearby.”
