Delhi govt to launch welfare programmes on PM Modi’s birthday: CM
Gupta said that, 150 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and four new government hospitals will also be inaugurated in the Capital

To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17, the BJP government in Delhi will organise a ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, dedicating 75 new services and welfare schemes to the people, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Tuesday.
Maintaining that initiative will be observed across the country from September 17 to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Gupta said that during this period, 150 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and four new government hospitals will also be inaugurated in the Capital.
“Seva Pakhwada will not be a mere formal event but will ensure implementation (of the projects that would be announced). This event is a tribute to his (PM’s) dedication and selfless service through which he has devoted every moment of his life to the nation’s development and progress,” said the CM.
She added, “Modi ji has never considered which party governs a particular state; he has always worked equally for every state and every citizen. In the same spirit, the Delhi government is organising this Seva Pakhwada in his honour.”
Besides initiating new services and schemes, the Sewa Pakhwada will include the inauguration of various development projects, laying the foundation stone of new works, and commencing long-pending projects.
The four new hospitals to be inaugurated are Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (Trauma Block), Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya, and Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital.
“Work is almost complete in these hospitals… Final touches are underway… Medical superintendents had been directed to complete the process of shifting into the new blocks/buildings by August 30 itself,” said a senior official.
Also, the schemes and projects covered under the Sewa Pakhwada will include initiatives related to education, housing, transport and civic amenities as well as an intensive sanitation drive named ‘Delhi ko Kude se Azadi’.
“All these initiatives will not only be linked to public welfare but will also advance our commitment to building a ‘Viksit Delhi’,” Gupta said.
