Delhi AQI today: Anand Vihar, Wazirpur still top of ‘very poor’ air quality chart

Delhi's air quality worsened on October 17, 2025, with the AQI touching 242. Several areas like Anand Vihar, Wazirpur, and Jahangirpuri crossed the 300 mark.

Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) Level Today, October 17, 2025: The Delhi AQI on Friday, October 17, spiked to 242 at 5:30 am, remaining  in the ‘poor’ air quality category. The temperature at the time was 18.2 degrees Celsius. Several areas recorded an AQI above 300, which means the air quality in these localities has turned ‘very poor’. Six more localities in Delhi are now in the ‘poor’ AQI category.

The highest AQI was recorded in Anand Vihar (370), followed by Wazirpur (328), and Jahangirpuri (324).

The AQI reading is categorised as Good (0-50), Satisfactory (51-100), Moderately Polluted (101-200), Poor (201-300), Very Poor (301-400), and Severe (401-500). Thus, higher the AQI reading, the unhealthier it gets to breathe.

AQI in NCR

At 6 am, the Ghaziabad AQI was 347, as per private AQI tracker aqi.in. The Noida AQI was 335, while the Greater Noida AQI read 305. The Faridabad AQI was recorded at a lower level of 279. The Gurgaon AQI was pegged at 312.

Health Advisory

With the AQI constantly rising, Delhi-NCR residents are advised to wear masks and stay indoors as much as possible to avoid breathing in the toxic air. Health experts also advise to avoid outdoor walking, jogging, or exercising due to the presence of pollutants in the air.
