Delhi: 7 injured after auto hits train

Police said the auto was speeding on a road parallel to the train’s.

Seven people, including a police constable, were injured after a train coming from Baghpat was hit from the side by an auto near Nathupura Colony at Mansarovar Park in north-east Delhi. Police said the incident took place around 1.30 pm Tuesday and all injured were rushed to the GTB hospital, where two persons are said to be in critical condition. Police said they have arrested the driver of the auto, identified as Yashpal.

Police said the auto was speeding on a road parallel to the train’s. “The auto driver took a sharp turn during which the auto hit the train and the passengers who were by the door of the train as well as those who had put their hands out of the windows,” said a police officer.
