The Commission has asked the Delhi Police to provide information on whether the officer has been suspended, details of action taken against him, details of any other complaint received against him in the past along with details of action taken then and details of posts he had held in the past. The Commission also asked for a detailed action taken report on the matter by August 23.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police detained the officer and his wife Monday afternoon. On Sunday, the police had booked them on charges of rape and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act after the girl said she was raped by the officer several times in 2020 and 2021, and that his wife terminated her pregnancy by giving her abortion pills.
“The girl was living in the house of the accused after the death of her father in October 2020, as the accused was her father’s family friend. She has alleged that the officer raped her multiple times from November 2020 to January 2021,” said the notice issued by the commission.
According to the Commission, the girl stated that she came back to her home after January 2021, but whenever the accused met her, he molested her.
On Monday, DCW chief Swati Maliwal sat on a dharna outside the hospital where the girl was admitted after authorities refused to allow her to meet the survivor stating that police had asked them not to.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given orders to suspend the officer and asked the chief secretary to submit a report in the matter by 5 pm on Monday.
