As Delhiites gear up for the New Year eve party,the Delhi Police has set its eyes on those indulging in drink driving and rowdy activities. The focus will especially be on celebration points including those in Connaught Place,India Gate and South Delhi. According to sources,special teams have been formed in each district to keep close check on those who misbehave after drinking. Also,the Delhi Police Special Cell and local police will also be deployed at various places to avert any terror attack,as intelligence agencies have warned of possible strikes on New Years eve. Almost all the 70,000 police officers will be out on roads tomorrow starting from 7 pm to 2 am on the New Year. A source in Special Cell said,Special watch will be kept on government buildings and the Metro,which are on the Lashkar-e-Toiba radar. We are gathering information about terrorists,but till now there has been no information about any suspicious movement towards the Capital. Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said quick reaction teams,special teams and mobile teams have been formed in these areas for the safety of revelers. The Delhi Traffic Police has also asked all its officers to be on the roads tomorrow and check vehicles for drink driving. An official said,The drink drivers will be booked immediately. This year,the Delhi Traffic Police has already booked 12,605 people for drink driving. Reserve forces have also been deployed at pubs and restaurants in Connaught Place and South Delhi.
