Two brothers were ripped off Rs 5 lakh by men who promised them jobs with Delhi Development Authority and Airports Authority of India. But police caught up with the cheats when they returned to the same spot to look for more victims. Nitesh Kumar and Jitender Singh were arrested from near the Indira Gandhi International Airport and police are looking for the mastermind. Investigators are also looking for a woman who claims to be an with the Bureau of Civil Aviation. Police suspect she could be the same woman who was arrested last year for allegedly cheating more than 300 people on the pretext of promising them jobs at the airport. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGIA) S S Deswal said: Kumar is a resident of Allahabad in UP and Singh is from Muraina in UP. We are on the lookout for the mastermind of the racket. The complaint was filed by a resident of Anand Parbat,Jaikishan,who was looking for a job for his two sons Rohit and Hitesh. Police said Jaikishan met Singh near Mahipalpur Park five months ago. Singh offered to arrange for jobs at the airport and at the DDA through the ministerial quota. Rohit was promised a job as a supervisor with AAI and Hitesh with DDA,police said. Singh made them meet an associate,who claimed to a person who was successfully placed as director at AAI. When Jaikishan and his sons were satisfied,the accused asked them to pay Rs 5 lakh to ensure the placements, a senior police officer said. Police said the sons were also introduced to one Bhupendra and a woman who claimed to be an official with BCAS. Police were told that Singh and Kumar drove an Tata Indica and met Jaikishan usually at Metro stations. They also asked Rohit and Hitesh to get medical tests done. After receiving the money,the men handed Jaikishen photocopies of appointment letters. But when they checked with authorities,Rohit and Hitesh were told that the letters were fake,police said. Police said the mobile phone numbers provided to Jaikishen were also not reachable. Singh and Kumar were arrested from Mahipalpur Park,where they were looking for more victims,police said.
