A 24-year-old clerk employed at the Lok Sabha Secretariat was arrested last week for using a fake sticker of Lok Sabha Television and trying to enter the premises of Parliament.

A 24-year-old clerk employed at the Lok Sabha Secretariat was arrested last week for using a fake sticker of Lok Sabha Television and trying to enter the premises of Parliament.

The accused was identified as Karan Sharma. Police said Sharma’s car,a second-hand Mitsubishi Lancer, had been towed away several times after he parked it near the Parliament building. Annoyed,he downloaded the logo of Lok Sabha TV from the Internet, laminated it and pasted it on his car to avoid checks by security officials.

“He thought if he used the sticker,he could park his vehicle anywhere near the Parliament building and would not be told by the police to remove it,” said V A Gupta,Additional DCP (New Delhi).

On February 11,police noticed the Lancer parked close to Rakabganj Gurudwara. “When Sharma was questioned,he told the police he was an employee of Lok Sabha TV. But we found he was working there on a contract basis and was not on their official rolls,” said the officer.

Sharma was then arrested on charges of forgery and cheating. Police said they were probing whether the accused had ever entered Parliament using the fake sticker.
