New Delhi: A 25-year-old software engineer was shot dead and robbed of his Honda City car by bike-borne assailants in Northwest Delhi late on Sunday night. According to the police,the victim was on his way back from a wedding in Ashok Vihar when he was waylaid and shot at. Prateek worked in a Noida based company as a software engineer. P3

R K Sharma tampered evidence: Police to HC

New Delhi: The prosecution in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case kicked off its arguments before the Delhi High Court on Monday and sought dismissal of the appeal by former senior police officer R K Sharma against his conviction for having the journalist killed in 1999. The police alleged that Sharma had influenced the witnesses and tampered with evidence to extricate him from the sensational murder case,as a result of which 43 prosecution witnesses had turned hostile. Sharma is serving life imprisonment after his conviction in the case.
