Charred body found in bag in Ghazipur, probe launched: Delhi Police
“The deceased had long hair... so prima facie, it seems the body was that of a woman. However, it would be confirmed after forensic analysis,” another police officer said.

A charred body, believed to be that of a woman, was found in a bag in Ghazipur, police said on Sunday. Based on CCTV footage recovered from a nearby area, it is suspected that a man brought the bag near a busy stretch, and set it ablaze before fleeing the scene, an official said.
“The body was completely charred along with the bag. A case under relevant sections has been registered at the Ghazipur police station,” DCP (East) Abhishek Dhania said.
“The deceased had long hair… so prima facie, it seems the body was that of a woman. However, it would be confirmed after forensic analysis,” another police officer said.
The CCTV footage from a nearby area showed traffic on a stretch close by. Police said the accused is suspected to have killed the victim first, adding that he could have been in one of the cars caught on camera.
“Police arrived at the spot at around 4 am on Sunday. The crime and forensics teams have investigated the spot. The identity of the deceased hasn’t been ascertained and efforts are on to trace the accused. There wasn’t a CCTV on the exact spot where it was burnt, so the identity of the accused is also not confirmed yet,” the police official said.
