Centre gets notice on Kidwai Nagar works

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought a response by July 9 from the Centre and the Delhi Government regarding the redevelopment of the East Kidwai Nagar by the Union Urban Development Ministry, after a plea alleged that requisite permissions have not been taken. The directions came while hearing a plea by South Delhi resident K S Gahunia who has alleged that National Buildings Construction Corporation, the project proponent, is destroying public roads and “illegally” erecting barricades on the roads under the garb of redevelopment. The plea also sought directions to restrain NBCC from operating concrete mixing plants on the roads.
