Bus rams into housing society wall in Noida, man selling momos dead

“Deepak (32) died at the district hospital in Sector 39 and Sushil (22) is being treated at Kailash Hospital. The other man, Kishan sustained a minor injury,” the officer added.

DCP (Noida) Vidya Sagar Mishra said the driver lost control of the bus before it rammed into the boundary wall.

“The injured men are being treated at the district hospital,” said Mishra.

Shortly after the incident, several locals, including women and children, gathered at the spot.

Some utensils, momo steamers, vegetables and other items were seen lying underneath the bus, too.

Eyewitnesses said around 25 people were aboard the bus and the driver, while turning towards Sector 122 from the 74/75 junction, appeared to have lost control at the turn of the road in front of the society.

Both the driver and conductor of the bus, which was found to be registered in the name of a private tour and travel company, are said to have escaped from the spot.

Later in the day, around 9 pm, police deployed a crane to remove the vehicle from within the premises of the society where it halted on an inner road parallel to the boundary wall the bus crashed into.
