BSES recovery agents assaulted

Four BSES employees were allegedly assaulted when they went to recover payment from a defaulter in Southeast Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area on Thursday afternoon,police said.

Four BSES employees were allegedly assaulted when they went to recover payment from a defaulter in Southeast Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area on Thursday afternoon,police said. The consumer and his associates are yet to be arrested.

The incident was reported around 12.45 pm on Thursday,when BSES employees Devendra Kumar,Pawan Kumar,Vijay Pratap and Sahab Singh went to recover dues of Rs 91,400,police said.

In his complaint,Devendra Kumar said they disconnected the electricity connection at the consumer’s house after he refused to clear the dues.

“On the pretext of making the payment,the consumer asked us to go to his drawing room. There,he and his associates assaulted us,following which we managed to make a PCR call,” Kumar said in the complaint.
