A five-year-old boy’s prank landed his mother behind bars,after she was held at the IGI Airport with used cartridges in her bag on Sunday.

A five-year-old boy’s prank landed his mother behind bars,after she was held at the IGI Airport with used cartridges in her bag on Sunday.

Neha Tomar (23),a homemaker,was to board a Kingfisher flight when she was stopped by CISF personnel who noticed the cartridges when her bag went through the scanner,police said.

“She said she did not know anything about the cartridges. She said a few days ago,her elder son had got the cartridges home when he found them while playing with friends near a warehouse,” said R A Sanjeev,DCP (IGI).

Police said they registered a case under the Arms Act because they did not find Tomar’s replies satisfactory.

Her husband Deepak Kumar has his own business in Ghaziabad. They have two sons. When her husband was informed about the arrest,he also gave the same explanation,police added.

“She told us she had asked her elder son to throw away the used cartridges when he brought them home. She was surprised to see them in her bag,” said an officer.

Tomar was released on bail on Tuesday. Police said she was on her way to meet relatives when the incident took place.
