Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, and the two other BJP MLAs on Sunday boycotted the AAP government’s much awaited launch of the anti-corruption hotline, claiming they had anticipated the programme to be a mere “political show”.
Gupta, Jagdish Pradhan and Om Prakash Sharma shunned the event at the Talkatora Stadium with Gupta saying that the entire event only had a “stamp of the Delhi government” and was “ in no way a government event”.
“We had been invited by the government for the launch. However, three hours before the event began, we had information that the event would be a mere political show and would eventually turn out to be nothing close to a government programme. Which is why we decided to boycott,” he said.
Gupta said, “This was blatant misuse of government funds. What sort of a programme is this where the CM is sloganeering?”
