BJP calls meeting on June 18 to chart course for Delhi Assembly elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to hold its state executive meet to discuss its strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls. The party has termed it a crucial meet,to be attended by almost all senior BJP members from Delhi.

Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel on Wednesday announced that the party will hold a series of public meetings over the next few days to highlight issues concerning various sections of the society in Delhi.

“The party will be holding a youth convention in Talkatora Stadium as well as public rallies at Palam and Kirari over the next few days. On June 14,we have convened a meeting of coordinators from all 70 Assembly constituencies,who were appointed recently to look after poll preparations,” Goel said.

The state executive meet will be held on June 18.

Among other programmes in the run-up to the elections,Delhi Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha,the youth wing of the party,will hold the “Youth for Change 2013” convention at Talkatora Stadium on June 16,which will be addressed by BJP national president Rajnath Singh.

Delhi BJYM president Gaurav Khari said the objective of the convention is to connect with the youth and respond to their aspirations. “We will be taking written feedback about their concerns and expectations regarding various issues in Delhi at this youth convention. Around 10,000 youths are expected to attend this programme,” Khari said.

Vijay Goel said: “While we are mobilising our cadres and leaders at the organisational front in preparation for Assembly polls,we are also running a relentless campaign to hold mass meetings and rallies to identify the issues concerning common people and highlighting the failure of Congress government.”
