The law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh has strengthened and investment has started flowing in, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Civil Aviation, VK Singh said at Jawaharlal Nehru University on Wednesday.

Releasing a book ‘Yogi at One Trillion Drive: Accelerating UP to a Trillion Dollar Economy’ edited by JNU professor Punam Kumari, Singh said: “The law and order situation has been strengthened in the state, investment is coming and an environment for development has been created. Infrastructure is developing and a development revolution has been taking shape in the state in the last nine years.” Singh also said that UP had made progress in the ‘ease of doing business’ rankings over the years.

“UP is the most populous state in the country. Before Yogi Adityanath became the CM, the law and order situation was in bad shape and investors were moving out of the state…they are now investing again. UP is now second in the ease of doing business rankings, up from number 12 earlier,” he said.

Dean of Colleges for Delhi University, Balaram Pani and JNU Rector, Dipendra Nath Das, were also present at the event.
