A copy of the FIR accessed by The Sunday Express states that Shambhu had taken Rs 3 lakh from BJP worker Ajay Tyagi on April 15, 2019, in the name of election funds but the sum was not deposited to the party fund.
"In August 2018, the government sent two requests, one from the CBI and the other from the Enforcement Directorate, to the authorities of the UK seeking the extradition of Nirav Modi to India," Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh told Rajya Sabha said.
The cost for chartered flights to overseas destinations in 2014-15 was Rs 93.76 crore while in 2015-16, it was Rs 117 crore. In 2016-17, the cost was Rs 76.27 crore and in 2017-18, expense on chartered flight was Rs 99.32 crore.

He further said that he does not think any such discussion took place within the standing committee on Defence and so Tewari's comment over VK Singh should be avoided. Another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nalin Kohli raised question against Manish Tewari by asking him that why he did not disclose these things when they were in the government? He further stated that the Congress party says something else when in government and something different when they are not in the government.

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said that he cannot comment in anything in this regard as he is unaware of the truth. He further said that only Defence Ministry can tell the truth about it. Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take the matter seriously and should sack VK Singh immediately. He further said that VK Singh was a controversial person and so enquiry should be made as his words cannot be trusted.
New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs VK Singh on Saturday said that India is enlarging its engagement with its diaspora and Indians living abroad. He was speaking at the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas. Addressing the conference, Singh said that India’s missions in various countries observing this day as Pravasi Bhartiya Divas and interacting with Indians living in that country.
