Declaring that he was the “mastermind” of the alleged liquor scam, the BJP on Wednesday announced it would intensify its agitation against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and would continue protesting till the party “made him resign”.
While the party will stage a protest at Jantar Mantar on March 21, it is scheduled to gherao the Delhi Legislative Assembly on March 23. Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and Delhi BJP general secretary Kuljeet Singh Chahal said the protests would take place even as the party went door-to-door to keep up the momentum against the AAP government till Kejriwal tendered his resignation on moral grounds.
Beginning March 16, the BJP will go door-to-door and distribute leaflets with “full details” of the alleged irregularities, corruption and “loot of the Delhi’s government treasury” in the implementation of the excise policy.
“The arrest of Manish Sisodia is not enough. Kejriwal is the real mastermind of the liquor scam. The cabinet meeting of the Delhi government in which the decision to implement the liquor policy was taken was presided over by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal,” Bidhuri alleged.
“In the same meeting that an unconstitutional decision was taken to increase the commission of liquor contractors from 2 to 12%, to open liquor shops in 123 wards of Delhi where they could not be opened due to the provisions of the Master Plan for Delhi…his resignation is the only solution,” he alleged.
Chahal said the party’s ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ around this would, starting Thursday, see all senior BJP leaders going door to door in their respective areas to spread awareness and “expose the corruption” in the now-retracted liquor policy.
On March 17, Chahal said, the Delhi BJP will protest outside major Metro stations and in major markets on March 18.
“On March 21, a massive protest will be held at Jantar Mantar and a memorandum will be submitted to the President demanding the dismissal of the Kejriwal government,” Chahal said
“A protest will be held on March 25 where we will burn effigies outside the homes and offices of AAP ministers and MLAs with corruption charges,” he added.
