Before leaving for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, "PM sir, do whatever you want to, AAP will not stop." The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor, who has been summoned by the central agency for questioning in connection with the Delhi excise policy probe, was speaking in a video released on his Twitter handle. In the video, Kejriwal alleged that "the BJP may have ordered his arrest to CBI." The AAP leader was asked to appear before the agency at 11 am before which he addressed the media outside his house and also visited Raj Ghat. "They have called me to the CBI today. I will leave in a little while. When we have done nothing wrong, what is there to hide? I will answer all questions truthfully. These people are very powerful. They can send anyone to jail, irrespective of whether they are guilty or not. Since yesterday, all of them have been saying that we will arrest Kejriwal. Perhaps the BJP has ordered the CBI to arrest me," he said in the video. अब आप जो मर्ज़ी कर लीजिए। अब आप रोक नहीं पायेंगे। अब भारत दुनिया का नंबर वन देश बन के रहेगा। pic.twitter.com/xLBloVKg7o — Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) April 16, 2023 Alleging that the BJP is misusing its power, Kejriwal added, "Now if the BJP has passed the order, the CBI will have to follow it. They have become very arrogant. Power ka nasha (Intoxication of power). They threaten anyone they can, judges, media persons, politicians, traders. They threaten everyone with jail.” “I love my country a lot, I can die for it. I came into politics 10 years ago. I used to wonder why my country was so backward, why was there so much poverty, why aren’t people educated. Even after 75 years of Independence why is the youth jobless? Why? I have the answer now. It is because our leaders don’t care about the people at all. They only want to play dirty politics all the time. They keep threatening everyone to go to jail," he said. Kejriwal said the saffron party was also threatening to put him in jail. "What will be achieved through this? Will the country’s problems be solved? Will everyone get jobs and education? No, right? Yes, you will be able to satisfy your ego," he said. Sharpening his attack on PM Modi, he said, "I have fixed all the schools here in the last eight years, but in 30 years you have not managed to fix a single school in Gujarat. When you had to get a photo clicked in a school in Gujarat, you could not find a single one. You had to make a fake class in a tent." Adding how much work the AAP has done in the education and health sector, Kejriwal questioned why the BJP could not do it in Madhya Pradesh in 15 years. "I have ended power cuts in Delhi, power is free. In 30 years, why couldn’t you do it in Gujarat. Why? Because you don’t want to do it. You want nothing to do with the people of the country. You only want power." "India could have been the number 1 country in the world but politicians and parties like yours did not let it happen because of your lust for money and power. But the country will not stop now. After Delhi, each and every person in the country has now stood up. People want to grow. It is my life’s mission to make India the number 1 country in the world," said the chief minister. ज़ुल्म और अत्याचार के ख़िलाफ़ हम जनता की आवाज़ और उम्मीद बनकर आख़िरी साँस तक लड़ेंगे। ईश्वर हमारे साथ हैं। pic.twitter.com/fGgOiU5Wzk — Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) April 16, 2023 Kejriwal said that despite being a diabetic, he fasted for ten days once and for 15 days at another time. “At the time, doctors said that a diabetes patient will die if they fast for such a long time. But I am alive. It is no less than a miracle… Pradhan Mantri ji, If Kejriwal is corrupt, no one in the world is honest. Kejriwal lives for the country and will die for the country. You call me to CBI 100 times, i will go. You can trouble the people of India, but you cannot stop them. No one can stop India from becoming the number 1 country in the world. " Kejriwal also addressed the media outside his house in Civil Lines and alleged that "India is a great country but some anti-national powers are trying to stop the country from progressing. They are trying to stop all the good work happening in the country. These are the same people who used their power and made our country remain backward…for the last 75 years." "These anti-national powers do not want good schools, hospitals, education for poor man's children… They don't want construction of good hospitals or want to make India no 1. But I want to tell those anti-national powers that now India and its citizens will not stop. You cannot stop them from becoming number one. Tum hum bharatwasiyon ko jitna marzi pareshan karlo Bharat rukne wala nahi hai tumhare in geedad bhapkiyon se, ab nahi rukne wale," he added. Kejriwal reached the CBI headquarters at around 11.08 am. Senior AAP leaders, including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, ministers Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi and others followed Kejriwal to Lodhi Road and sat outside the CBI headquarters in support of their party chief. Security was heightened at several key places in Delhi such as the Chief Minister’s residence, CBI headquarters, Raj Ghat and ITO where the AAP has plans to hold protests. About 25-30 AAP workers and supporters who were moving towards the party office to hold a protest were stooped at ITO Chowk and detained by the Delhi Police. The Delhi liquor policy was a pet project of AAP launched in November 2021 but within around eight months, it was scrapped following allegations of corruption and multiple cases and investigations by the CBI and ED. Deputy Chief Minister Manishi Sisodia, who was also the excise minister, is one of the 15 accused named by the CBI in the FIR. He was arrested in February.
