Around Town; Woman shot at by men on motorbike

In her statement to police,Neha alleged that around 8.30 pm she returned home and had just parked her car when the two assailants on a motorcycle shot at her.

“Two rounds were fired at her. One bullet hit her in her waist,the other in her hand. Prima facie,it seems as if the assailants were known to her and were seeking revenge. Investigations are underway” said Deputy Commissioner of police (Outer) B S Jaiswal.

He added,“Robbery as a motive has been ruled out since her mobile phone and other valuables have been found intact”.

Following the PCR call at 8.40 pm,the victim was rushed to Raja Harish Chandra Hospital,subsequent to which her family shifted her to Ganga Ram Hospital,police said. Her condition is stable at the moment,officials said.

Neha’s father owns a shop at a wholesale market in Narela. The victim is pursuing her MBA through distance learning.

Boy killed in road accident

New delhi: A boy was killed and three others injured in an accident in the city on Sunday.

A 11-year-old boy was killed when a taxi hit the motorcycle, which his father was riding on Sardar Patel Marg in New Delhi area. The boy was on the bike with his parents and his sister.

“Gautam Joshi was taken to RML Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said a senior police officer.

“Sarabjeet (19),the taxi driver has been arrested. His father works in a travel company and he had taken the car out without permission,” the officer added.
