Gurgaon:The deaths of two children five-year-old Mahi in an abandoned borewell and the other in a manhole on July 5 have prompted the district administration to recommend departmental action against Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) officials for open pits,wells and sewerage tanks.During surprise checks along the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway,Deputy Commissioner P C Meena has found that the sewerage well near Medicity wasnt closed properly and children from the slums were playing around it. Businessmans Nabi Karim house burgled New Delhi:The residence of a 64-year-old businessman was targeted by unidentified burglars,who fled with cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees while he was on vacation. The businessman,identified as Ashwini Kumar Malhotra,had gone with his family to Vrindavan,Uttar Pradesh,when the burglary took place. They also found the main door ajar and the locks of the rear entrance broken. According to Malhotra,the burglars decamped with gold,silver and diamond jewellery. 12-yr-old boy killed in accident New Delhi:A 12-year-old boy was killed and three others were injured in two separate accidents reported from Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Ferozshah Road on Sunday. In the first incident,a 12-year-old cyclist,identified as Sachin,was allegedly hit by a speeding bus in the Connaught Place area at 10.20 pm on Sunday night. The driver of the truck,identified as Yashpal,was caught by a passerby and handed over to the police. Sachin was taken to a nearby hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival.
