Khan Market parking lot: HC seeks official’s help

NEW DELHI: As confusion prevailed over the space earmarked for developing the parking facility for Khan Market,the Delhi High Court on Monday called for personal appearance of the Deputy Land and Development Officer to present a clear picture on the selected area. A Bench headed by Justice S K Kaul asked the senior officer to show up in the court on the next date of hearing so as to assist the court in understanding the specified area and the plan in place to develop the facility. Earlier,the Deputy Land and Development Officer had filed a status report,intimating a decision to allot a plot for parking lot.

Councillors to get a minute to speak

NEW DELHI: The last House meeting,which will be held on Friday,will see each Councillor getting a minute each to speak. Leader of the House Subhash Arya said: “Since it is the last House,we will give the councillors a minute’s time to say what they wish to before the House is adjourned.’’

Man falls on railway track,run over by train

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man died after he fell on the railway tracks and a train ran over him near Anand Vihar station on Monday.

The man was identified as Amarjeet Singh,a resident of Khagaria in Bihar. Police said Singh may have been standing on the footboard of the moving Seemanchal Express,when he slipped and fell on the tracks.
