The bike of a DJ was stolen from the President’s Estate a week ago where he came to perform at a wedding reception of a Rashtrapati Bhavan employee. An FIR in this regard was filed two days ago. Mohammed Yakub had entered through Gate 31 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex and parked his Bajaj-Discover bike near the United Bank of India. A senior police officer said,“He returned five minutes later. Seeing his bike missing,he informed the police.” A probe is being conducted.

Man robbed,shot dead in Northeast Delhi
A 35-year-old man was robbed and shot dead in Northeast Delhi on Monday evening. The police said the victim,Vinod Kumar,was returning home when he was intercepted by two bike-borne assailants at E-Block in MS Park. “He had collected Rs 5 lakh from a client,and had reached the intersection when the two men tried to snatch the bag. When Kumar resisted,he was shot twice in the chest,” said a senior police officer. Kumar is survived by his wife and three children.

Security guard arrested for killing friend
The Ghaziabad police have arrested a resident of Loni who murdered his friend and buried the body in his house. According to the police,the accused and the victim,Mangeram and Leeleram,worked as security guards ad were friends. On January 26,Leeleram came to Mangeram’s home and eve-teased his wife. “Mangeram then decided to kill Leeleram and asked his wife to leave the house. After making him drink alcohol, he stabbed Leeleram in the sneck. Then he dug a pit and buried the body,” said SP (City) A K Vijaita. Mangeram was arrested after his wife confessed to the killing.

Talwar attacker told to appear in court
A Ghaziabad court trying Utsav Sharma,who attacked Rajesh Talwar on the court premises on January 25,has directed that he be personally present in court on Tuesday in connection with a plea filed by his mother seeking his admission in a hospital for mental treatment. “CJM D D Ojha directed that Utsav be present in person before the court as he wanted to examine him face-to-face before giving any order,” Utsav’s lawyer S P Chaudhry said.

NDPL unveils carbon footprint calculator
Discom NDPL has launched a carbon footprint calculator on its website. The calculator will allow consumers to determine their carbon dioxide emissions from various sources such as home energy consumption and transportation. “The carbon footprint is the sum of all carbon dioxide emissions directly and indirectly associated with an individual’s activities over a given time frame (usually 12 months). The calculator measures the effects of an individual’s activities on the environment,” a statement said.
