Anand Parbat case: Haven’t got Rs 5 lakh promised by Kejriwal, says Meenakshi’s family

The family of 19-year-old Meenakshi, who was brutally murdered in Anand Parbat area last month, on Monday said they have not yet received compensation of Rs 5 lakh as announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while visiting their residence.

“We have not so far received a cheaque of Rs 5 lakh which CM Arvind Kejriwal announced when he came to our house after our daughter’s murder,” Usha, Meenakshi’s mother, told reporters.

Usha and her husband Rajkumar, who today attended the proceeding of the Special Session of Delhi Assembly on women security, said that after the chief minister’s visit, no one has come to help them.

“We have come here (Delhi Assembly) because we were told that our complaint would be resolved here that’s why I and Meenaksh’s father have come… Our financial condition is deteriorating. We don’t have money for medical treatment. No political leader has come forward to help us,” Usha said.

While meeting Meenakshi’s family members on July 19, Kejriwal had assured them of all possible help.
