A dumper rammed into a white Swift car at the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway on Sunday night killing a 21-year-old student of Amity University. Prakhar Mohan,a B Com second year student, was driving with three friends who survived the crash. Mohan,a resident of Unnao, was driving the car when the accident took place near Sector-93. He was on his way back to his rented accommodation in Sector-39. The accident took place around 10.30 am when Prakhar, who was driving, changed lane to get to the left of the road. The dumper was coming from the back at high speed and hit the car from the left side, said Anil Samania,SHO,Sector-39 police station. According to the victims friends, who were with him when the accident took place, the car rolled three to four times before hitting the divider. We almost lost our senses when the car turned and hit the divider. We could not believe when we survived with minor injuries. We could not save Prakhar, said Sikander, one of his friends. Navneet Singh Choudhary and Virendra Dutt were the two other survivors. Despite police patrol vans doing the rounds, the number of casualties on the Expressway have not reduced. Proper lighting on the Epressway is still a major issue between the police and the Noida Authority. After every incident, the Authority officials meet senior police officers over making the Expressway less accident prone but to no avail, said senior police officer.
