Retired IAS officer Amarjeet Sinha on Monday resigned as Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with seven months to go before his two-year tenure was to officially end.
There was no official statement from the PMO on the reason for Sinha’s decision.
He is the second top PMO bureaucrat to quit this year, following the departure of former Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha. P K Sinha resigned as Principal Adviser to Modi earlier this year.
Amarjeet Sinha, a retired IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, looked after social sector matters in the PMO.
