Directors of three construction firms, including Ansal Housing Limited, have been booked by Gurgaon Police after a group of allottees lodged a complaint alleging cheating. In the complaint, allottees of Ansal Hub 83 located in Sector 83 stated that the company Ansal “painted an extremely rosy picture of their project, stating that it shall be one of its kind with world-class facilities.” However, “later it was found the building plan. and area of units booked by the investors were different from what was shown to them at the time of booking,” the complaint claimed. “It was represented that the project will be developed within the time frame and possession of the shops/offices shall be handed over to allottees in the time frame after completing the entire development and obtaining completion certificate from local authority. The marketing executives of accused companies relied on attractive brochures and catalogues and convinced the complainant to believe representations and assurances,” the complaint alleged. An FIR under IPC sections 120-B, 406, and 420 was registered at Kherki Daula police station Tuesday. ACP (Manesar) Surender Singh said an investigation is underway and they are looking into the allegations. A spokesperson for Ansal denied all allegations in the complaint and said the project was under arbitration after Covid and was finally awarded to Ansal to finish the project and deliver. “Work has resumed and is absolutely on track and will be finishing soon. We would like to convey that construction is fast-tracked and everything would be completed within the stipulated time frame,” stated the official.
