Accused sent in judicial custody

A city court on Friday sent two persons accused of abduction and rape of 30-year-old call centre employee in judicial custody till Monday.

A city court on Friday sent two persons accused of abduction and rape of 30-year-old call centre employee in judicial custody till Monday. Metropolitan Magistrate Susheel Bala Dagar sent the accused,Shamshad and Usman,to Tihar Jail after the police said they needed to conduct the Test Identification Parade (TIP) of the accused before the victim. The court has allowed the police to conduct the TIP on Saturday.

The court also allowed the police plea to produce the third accused,Iqbal,before it on Monday. He had recently surrendered before a Faridabad court in a case of cow slaughter.

Meanwhile,following the two arrests in the case,two head constables and two constables will be given out of turn promotions.
