The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to come out with its first list of candidates for Lok Sabha polls on Sunday, AAP sources said on Saturday.
“The political affairs committee of the party is meeting tomorrow (Sunday). The first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections might be announced after the meeting,” AAP media co-ordinator Deepak Bajpai said.
Party members said Kumar Vishwas is likely to contest from Amethi. “The party has received one strong application for the Amethi constituency — Kumar Vishwas. It is possible that the names of candidates for crucial Lok Sabha seats will be announced on Sunday,” a party member said.
For the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, the names that are doing the rounds include Ashish Talwar, Gopal Rai, Shazia Ilmi, Dilip Pandey and former journalist Ashutosh. The party has received over 5,000 applications for these seven seats, a source said.
Lawyer activist Ashok Aggarwal has also applied for an AAP ticket from Chandni Chowk constituency.
