A 73-year-old retired chief medical superintendent of Indian Railways was shot at when he was attending to patients at his home in Noida Sector-26 on Friday night.
Police said two persons came to Srivastavas home. One of them was wearing a mask. He said he was not feeling well. When Srivastava was checking his pulse,he pulled out a pistol and shot him in the neck, an officer said.
His neighbour,who is a retired IGP,informed police about the incident after he rushed to Srivastavas home when he heard the gunshot.
Srivastava was taken to a private hospital. He is undergoing treatment in the ICU, the officer said.
Prima facie,it looks like personal enmity was the motive. We have launched a hunt to catch the assailants, the officer said.
